Aortography at the Top Ihilov Medical Center
The aorta is the largest vessel in the human body, so any anomalies or pathologies of the vessel can lead to irreversible consequences.
There are developmental anomalies of the aorta, such as aneurysms or acquired vascular obstruction (thickening of the walls, deposition of cholesterol plaques). Timely diagnosis of pathologies can not only preserve the patient's health but also prevent possible thermal conditions.
At the "Top Ihilov" clinic, one of the most informative procedures is performed – aortography. The examination is conducted to identify pathologies of the vessel and organs of the abdominal and thoracic cavities.
The following types are distinguished:
- aortography of the thoracic aorta. The examination is conducted for functional and morphological diagnosis of aortic pathologies, its branches, lung diseases (neoplasms in the organ), and mediastinum;
- aortography of the abdominal aorta. The examination is conducted for diagnosing diseases of the vessel itself, liver, spleen, kidneys, intestines, and pelvic organs.
The aortography procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia, with access to the aorta provided by puncturing the radial or brachial artery, carotid artery, femoral artery, as well as its deep branch. The diagnostic manipulation is carried out using a contrast agent, which is injected into the blood vessel. A series of images is obtained through radiological examination in different projections at varying time intervals.
Aortography is performed as a preoperative examination and as a diagnostic examination to confirm the diagnosis.
At the "Top Ihilov" Medical Center, aortography is carried out by experienced and highly qualified specialists, including esteemed scientific figures and professors.
