The wife of Nikolai Karachentsov spoke about her husband's success in fighting cancer in Israel

The phrase "true medical miracle" is most often associated with Israel, and there is a logical explanation for this. It is in the Promised Land that even patients for whom domestic medicine has proven powerless get a chance for recovery. Recently, Nikolai Karachentsov experienced this firsthand.
In his free time from undergoing chemotherapy, the famous actor and his wife stroll along the seaside, attend theatrical performances, and communicate with compatriots who have emigrated to Israel. Nikolai Petrovich even managed to learn how to say the word "head" in Hebrew. His fans, including many Israeli doctors, rejoice at Karachentsov's successes and wish him a speedy recovery.
Let us remind you that Nikolai Petrovich became famous for his roles in iconic films such as "The Elder Son," "The Man from Boulevard des Capucines," "A Dog in the Manger," and other films. For many years, he also performed in plays at the Lenkom Theatre, but in 2005, his creative path was abruptly interrupted: the actor, shocked by the news of his mother-in-law's death, exceeded the speed limit while rushing home and lost control of his vehicle on one of the dangerous sections of the highway. As a result, the car crashed into a pole, and Karachentsov sustained a severe traumatic brain injury.
This led to disability and exacerbation of many health issues, but the actor and his wife never gave up and continued to fight against illnesses. This is what brought them to Israel, where Nikolai Petrovich had previously undergone rehabilitation after the accident. Currently, Israeli doctors are working to stop the progression of lung cancer, which was diagnosed in him in 2017. Treatment is being conducted at the Ichilov Medical Center – one of the leading clinics in Israel, where cancer treatment is characterized by very high effectiveness.
How Karachentsov is treated in Israel: about the medical aspect and more
Today, Nikolai Petrovich is undergoing the second half of his chemotherapy sessions. The choice of the Israeli clinic was obvious: only here were the couple offered treatment using an innovative method that reduces the duration of therapeutic procedures to 5 minutes. Given Karachentsov's diagnosis, this is extremely important, as he simply cannot remain still for more than a quarter of an hour. State-of-the-art equipment and a comprehensive approach to therapy have allowed Israeli doctors to achieve significant progress. And although it is difficult for the actor to express himself in complete sentences, individual words spoken in gratitude to the specialists who organized his treatment in Israel confirm his immense appreciation.
Karachentsov's wife, Lyudmila Porgina, speaks with sincere admiration about the professionalism and sensitivity of Israeli doctors. She recalls how one neurosurgeon, who assessed his speech skills, was so moved by the actor reading an excerpt from Pushkin's work that he did not even accept payment for the consultation. Lyudmila Andreevna notes that she rarely observed such involvement back home. In Israel, all doctors treat Nikolai Petrovich with special care and provide every possible assistance to both him and his wife.
In particular, this concerns psychological support. Lyudmila Porgina recalls how difficult it was for her at times to maintain positive thoughts when the real circumstances suggested otherwise. In Russian hospitals, this aspect is almost never given attention, while in Israel, they understand that the right psychological mindset is half the success in fighting any disease. Feeling at home in Israel is also aided by their surroundings. They have many friends from the "theatrical kitchen" who moved to this country some time ago. They, like the doctors, empathize with Nikolai Petrovich and help distract him from the relentless battle with cancer.
The couple has many plans ahead. They do not want to limit their stay in Israel to being in hospital wards. Karachentsov and Porgina intend to attend more cultural events and, if possible, even visit Bethlehem and Jerusalem. Relying on the professionalism of Israeli doctors, we believe they will be able to realize their plans.
