FibroTest in Israel – a non-invasive method for diagnosing liver fibrosis

FibroTest is the latest effective method for liver testing

After the successful implementation of a unique method for testing liver condition at the Top Ihilov Medical Center, new opportunities have opened up for specialists to identify pathological processes in liver tissues. FibroTest is a liver testing method that allows for the detection of the scarring process in liver tissues at the very early stages of development.

Liver diseases lead to structural changes in its tissues, such diseases include: hepatitis C, alcoholism, metabolic disorders, autoimmune diseases, chronic inflammatory diseases. The tissues of the liver at the site of the focus become scarred, healthy tissue turns into fibrous tissue, leading to fibrosis. With extensive changes, the liver cannot function properly, and cirrhosis of the liver – an irreversible necrotic process – may gradually develop.

Like any diseases, liver diseases are easier to treat in the early stages, but it has not always been possible to determine the onset of the pathological process or to monitor the dynamics of changes. Currently, FibroTest not only allows for an adequate assessment of liver condition and the assignment of treatment, but it is also a way to monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic procedures.

Previously, liver condition could be diagnosed using liver tissue biopsy, which is undoubtedly an effective and informative method. However, for the patient, it is still a micro-surgery, and repeating it several times in a row is a trial and burden for the body. FibroTest is no different from a regular blood draw for tests. The patient does not need to prepare for the procedure, there are no dietary restrictions, and after the procedure, there is no need to monitor the patient's condition.

FibroTest can be performed several times in a row, allowing for the assessment of disease dynamics, adjustment of treatment, and more accurate determination of disease progression or remission.

Specialists at the Top Ihilov Medical Center note the broad informativeness and safety of FibroTest, its simplicity, and diagnostic effectiveness. All specialists from other clinics where this liver testing method has been implemented agree with their colleagues.
