Natan Bornstein is the head of the neurology department at Ichilov Medical Center. He is a graduate of the medical school at the Technion University (Haifa). He specialized in the study of brain processes and Doppler studies at the Sanibrook medical center (Canada). Since 1978, he has completed a 5-year internship in the neurology department at Ichilov Medical Center, and then in the same medical center, he focused on the study of brain vessels. In 1989, he became the director of the department of cerebrovascular diseases and laboratory studies of the carotid arteries and brain vessels. From 2001, he led the neurology department at Ichilov Medical Center for 6 years. Professor Bornstein has extensive academic experience. Currently, he is a member of the editorial board of publications such as the journal Stroke, the European Journal of Neurology, the Journal of Neurological Sciences (Turkey), the journal Acta, and the Italian Heart Journal. From 1982 to 1995, the professor headed the neurology department at Tel Aviv University. He then worked as a senior lecturer there for four years. In 2011, he was awarded the title of professor at the medical faculty of Tel Aviv University. The professor has over 170 presentations at scientific conferences and more than 90 publications in scientific journals. Bornstein specializes in the treatment of ischemic stroke, carotid stenosis, menopause, and other diseases. The professor is a member of several professional societies: the Israel Medical Association, the Israeli Neurological Association, the European Neurological Association, and others.
