Oocyte Cryopreservation in Israel

Pregnancy does not always occur naturally. Sometimes, the IVF procedure is necessary. In such cases, doctors also use the method of oocyte cryopreservation.

This procedure involves freezing oocytes in liquid nitrogen as quickly as possible to prevent material damage. Conversely, thawing is also done as quickly as possible for the same reasons. Usually, oocytes survive with 100% effectiveness. The method is quite popular, having been used around half a million times. Oocyte cryopreservation in Israel helps women aged 25 to 38 preserve their oocytes "young" until they are ready for pregnancy or find a suitable partner. Interestingly, childbirth can occur at 40, 45, and even 50 years!

Features

Oocytes are stored in special containers for sometimes many years until the right moment arrives. "Cryopreserved" oocytes retain their qualities, so babies born as a result of this procedure are absolutely no different from other children. The effectiveness of the method is proven.

Reasons

In addition to waiting for the "chosen one" and the right time for pregnancy, there are also other indications. For example, if your partner cannot come to the clinic to provide sperm on the scheduled day, or if he has poor sperm analysis results. The method is also used for patients who are awaiting chemotherapy or radiation therapy (in oncology), as these can lead to reproductive function problems.

Procedure

Oocyte cryopreservation in Israel consists of several stages. To undergo the procedure, one must first schedule an appointment with a reproductive specialist, undergo an initial consultation, and complete all necessary examinations. Some issues may sometimes pose obstacles to the procedure and need to be fully resolved. Then, the so-called "hormonal" period takes place. This is characterized by the woman taking various medications to increase the number of oocytes produced. Usually, the body produces one, but several are needed for the procedure. The medication creates a favorable hormonal environment for the maturation of female cells. This period (2-3 weeks) does not affect the normal rhythm of life; the patient can go to work and engage in regular activities. The final stage is the extraction of the already prepared material. This procedure is monitored by ultrasound and is performed under anesthesia, so the woman feels no discomfort. An hour after the procedure, the patient can calmly leave the clinic and continue with her usual activities.
