Diagnosis of Wilms tumour in Israel

Wilms tumour is often detectable through simple abdominal palpation. Typically, the formation is localized closer to the left or right side, and in late stages, there is an increase in the abdomen on that side. Bilateral nephroblastoma, that is, a tumour of both kidneys, is extremely rare. Otherwise, nephroblastoma can develop without any symptoms. In children aged 5-6 years, it is almost impossible to palpate the tumour; it is only found after tests following the detection of blood in the urine. At this stage, the disease manifests as pain in the side or abdomen, fever, and sometimes elevated blood pressure.
