Nasopharyngeal Cancer
The main symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer are nasal and ear congestion, purulent bloody nasal discharge or bleeding, cervical lymphadenopathy, and facial nerve paralysis.
In the case of primary cancer, radiation therapy is used. If radiation does not yield positive results or in the presence of metastases in the cervical lymph nodes, surgical intervention is applied.
Oropharyngeal Cancer
The most common are squamous cell carcinomas of the tonsils. Their occurrence is generally associated with alcohol consumption and smoking. The main symptoms for patients are sore throat or difficulty swallowing. Oropharyngeal cancer is treated with surgical methods and radiation therapy.
