In this condition, two types of diagnostics are performed: planned and screening. Planned examinations include blood tests for cholesterol and coagulation and a biochemical analysis. Treatment
The method of treating blood clots largely depends on the stage of the disease. In Israel, therapeutic treatment with medications is used if the disease is at an early stage. If the problem is advanced, specialists perform surgical intervention – thrombectomy. A catheter with a balloon at the end is used to remove poorly attached clots in large vessels.
Prevention
To prevent blood clots, it is important to drink at least two liters of water a day and avoid fatty foods.
