In Israel, Diabetics Will Have Access to an Innovative Insulin Delivery System

Insulin

The international corporation Valeritas recently signed an exclusive agreement with the Israeli company Tritech Biomed, which specializes in the import and sale of medical equipment and devices, to introduce its innovative product for people with type 2 diabetes to the Israeli market. This concerns the revolutionary insulin delivery system V-Go, which is already available in many countries around the world.

According to the terms of the agreement, Tritech Biomed will obtain rights to promote, supply, and sell the V-Go system in Israeli diabetes clinics and directly to patients suffering from type 2 diabetes. This miniature portable device attaches to the skin like a patch and provides a specified dose of insulin to maintain its basal level for 24 hours. The device can also deliver bolus insulin on demand, necessary for lowering blood glucose levels after meals, Valeritas notes.

V-Go"We are pleased to collaborate with partners from Tritech Biomed, which will help provide state-of-the-art V-Go insulin delivery systems to Israeli patients with type 2 diabetes who require regular insulin administration," says Valeritas CEO John Timberlake. "Currently, there are over 600,000 diabetics in Israel, and we hope that our device will help them better control their blood sugar levels to avoid the development of diabetes complications."

The company emphasized that it will retain rights to product development, obtaining regulatory approval for its use, quality control, and manufacturing in Israel, while Tritech Biomed will be responsible for sales, marketing, customer service, and distribution of the V-Go systems in the region.
