The most popular type of such surgery is called TVT (tension-free vaginal tape), which effectively treats stress urinary incontinence in women, is performed minimally invasively, and takes no longer than half an hour.

Peryurethral and transurethral injections of various agents that narrow the urethra (silicone, ethylene vinyl alcohol, calcium salts, etc.) may also be used.
