Da Vinci Xi is a 4th generation robotic surgical system, the only one to date in both Israel and the entire Middle East, located at Ichilov Hospital in the newly opened robotic-assisted surgery department. The system is based on 20 years of experience with the Da Vinci system and elevates surgery to a new, previously unattainable level of development. With its help, surgeries have become even more precise and gentle, providing the surgeon with greater control over the course of the intervention, while the perfected visualization system allows for the observation of the slightest changes in the operated area. The manipulators of the system have gained flexibility and reach, enabling operations in 4 sectors, completely eliminating all the drawbacks of human-performed surgery: hand tremors, distraction, etc.
Advantages of Using Da Vinci Xi
- Minimally invasive surgery that minimizes blood loss
- Eliminates the possibility of medical error
- Reduces the duration of the operation
- Cosmetic effect after surgery - no visible scars remain
- Easy and short rehabilitation
It is important to note that Da Vinci Xi is not a robot, but a robotic platform that is fully controlled by the operating physician.
Surgeries using Da Vinci Xi are performed through 3-4 incisions, each no more than 8 mm in diameter. An endoscope equipped with powerful lighting and a microscopic camera is inserted through one of the incisions, transmitting a magnified image to a high-resolution monitor, allowing for the observation of the smallest details. The other incisions accommodate manipulators equipped with the most modern microsurgical instruments.
The Da Vinci Xi system is indispensable for performing complex surgeries in gynecology, oncogynecology, urogynaecology, oncourology, and several other fields, one of the primary tasks of which is to preserve various bodily functions, such as during prostate tumour removal, where special precision and care are required to avoid damaging the nerves and muscles responsible for sexual and urinary functions. However, the use of Da Vinci Xi is not limited to these areas, and its application is expanding year by year.
