Treatment of Adenoids in Israel, Enlarged Tonsils in Israel

Adenoids are a pathological enlargement of the tonsils, consisting of a cluster of lymphoid tissue located deep in the nasopharyngeal space. This condition is common in children aged 3 to 15 years.

Causes

The development of adenoids is caused by viral and infectious diseases (measles, influenza, scarlet fever, bronchitis, diphtheria), low immunity, allergies, as well as congenital pathology.

Symptoms

The symptoms of the disease are easy to recognize - there are difficulties in breathing through the nose, nasal discharge, systematically recurring runny nose, sleep disturbances and snoring, headaches, speech becomes nasal and indistinct, hearing decreases, the child is weak and tires quickly. Adenoids have many side effects - inflammation of the middle ear, bite disorders, changes in the facial and chest skeleton, impaired lung ventilation, inflammatory processes in the respiratory tract, gastrointestinal disturbances, changes in hematopoiesis, enuresis, laryngeal spasms, cough.

Diagnosis of Adenoids and Tonsils in Israel

The diagnosis of enlarged tonsils in Israel is performed by an otolaryngologist. The finger method (palpating the tonsils through the mouth) is not used today. Radiographic examination of the nasopharynx shows that the tonsils are enlarged but does not provide information about internal inflammatory processes. The most effective method is endoscopy (inserting a thin tube equipped with a camera through the nose, displaying the image of the tonsils on a monitor). This method of examination is painless, safe, and provides the most comprehensive information, including the degree of blockage of the Eustachian tube.

Treatment of Adenoids and Tonsils in Israel

In Israel, as everywhere in the world, adenoids are treated in two ways - conservatively and surgically. The therapy for treating tonsils involves systematic nasal irrigation, taking and instilling drying and anti-edema medications, ascorbic acid, and conducting physiotherapy. If the conservative method proves ineffective, or if recurrences occur regularly, adenoidectomy is recommended. The operation is performed endoscopically, using a camera to remove the inflamed lymphoid mass and perform laser cauterization of damaged vessels. The best prevention of enlarged tonsils is the qualified treatment of ENT diseases and inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, carried out in a timely manner.
